Hi, I'm Jack

University of Bath

I study Politics and International Relations at the University of Bath; placement years are highly encouraged there and a big part of the reason of why I chose Bath. I applied to Warner Bros. because of the opportunity to work at such a widely renowned company and I am a huge film fan but most importantly, I knew how much Warner Bros. value their placement students. For my personal development, I was looking for a role that was a bit different to my degree and would allow me to be more creative.

Describe a normal day in the office…

I have a few regular weekly tasks such as writing updates and newsletters for the franchise but one of the great things about my role is that every day is different. Most of my time will be spent on brand projects such as the franchise’s long-term plans, reviewing marketing materials and other ad-hoc tasks.

What do you enjoy most about your role?

I enjoy being completely immersed within the franchise, not just because I’m a huge Harry Potter fan but because I put all my efforts into one brand and am invested into its success. Another benefit of being in the franchise team is that we are cross-divisional, this means I get to see how multiple teams work and this gives me a valuable insight into the company. I also enjoy the responsibility given to me from early on within my placement, knowing that I have autonomy within my work and my opinions are valued.

Favourite Warner Bros. Film?

Of course, everything Harry Potter and would also say The Departed.

What’s been a highlight for you so far?

One of my highlights was early into my placement when my team ran a brand planning event, we hosted members of our team from LA along with J.K. Rowling’s agency and other external speakers. This was great fun and really exciting to discuss our future plans.
I also loved going to the Studio Tour!
