Dream big and silence the voice in your head telling you ‘I’m not good enough’ trust me stranger things have happened.

Hi, I'm Curtis

Student at the University of Ulster

I applied for a Placement with Warner Bros. for many reasons. The most obvious reason would of course be the fantastic opportunity to work for a huge corporate business that has an excellent reputation as an employer and as an entertainment company.

Warner Bros. placements offer the opportunity to take on real responsibility within a supportive and encouraging business environment. The thought of working for Warner Bros. appealed to me because the roles offer insight into how a large commercial studio operates. Furthermore I applied to work for Warner Bros. to improve my employability and chances of finding a job once I graduate. How amazing will Warner Bros. look on a CV!

Describe a normal day in the office…

I always start the day with a cup of tea and a review of my newest emails. This influences how I prioritise my daily and weekly tasks, in order to not miss any deadlines.

There is never a dull moment in the office as there is always exciting new creative briefs to work on ranging from refreshing the look of an online store to producing inserts for a DVD.

Multitasking is an essential skill as I am required to juggle these main briefs with smaller tasks which will arise throughout the day. These include supplying clients with assets and style guides, producing mock ups, quick touch-ups, helping colleagues with Adobe programs and performing financial tasks.

What do you enjoy most about your role?

The best part of my role is the incredible people I get to work alongside. From the moment I spiraled through the revolving door on my assessment day I was treated as an equal rather than a student. This goes in hand with the fact that I am trusted with producing significant work that will be seen outside of the office walls.

What’s your favourite WB film/TV show/game?

Harry Potter and the Order of the Phoenix

What’s been a highlight for you so far?

Even though I’ve only been part of the Warner Bros family for a short period of time I have an extensive array of surreal memories ranging from watching Wonder Woman in the in-house theatre, to interacting with the public at Brick Live; however nothing has yet toped the bizarre feeling of attending the Dunkirk premier! As if this experience wasn’t strange enough I was shocked when I ended up watching the film with not only the cast but the genius Christopher Nolan himself!
