Working for Warner Bros. has provided me with an extensive range of opportunities to learn and grow as a business woman.

Hi, I'm Annabel

Student at Aston University

I applied for a Warner Bros. placement for two reasons: my passion for pursuing a career in business and my immense love of watching films. I knew that working for Warner Bros. would combine the two and manifest my dream placement.

Describe a normal day in the office…

I tend to start most mornings reading through my emails and creating a to do list for that day with a sausage sandwich from The Hub in front of me. Every day is different due to the variety of responsibilities that are associated with my role. I have a wide range of tasks that I am expected to complete both weekly and monthly as well as handling ad hoc assignments given to me by other team members. Generally, each day I am in contact with the licensees, spanning 31 territories, through email, requesting and chasing them for necessary information; I also complete my own data analysis making full use of the Warner Bros. database, “EIS”.

What do you enjoy most about your role?

The thing I enjoy most is that I am given real responsibility within my team. Knowing that the work I am doing is useful to people within my team and within the company at large is a great feeling. I also find the role itself really interesting as I analyse and report on how well films are performing within EMEA (Europe, Middle East and Africa). This work gives me a great insight into the films that work well and those that do not work as well in a wide range of territories.

Favourite Warner Bros. Film?

Of All Time: Harry Potter and the Goblet of Fire. As of Recently: A Star Is Born.

What’s been a highlight for you so far?

I have had countless highlights whilst working at Warner Bros., including attending film screenings and networking events. However, one highlight would be the invitation I and four interns received to a Cartoon Network comedy club event. We had a great night watching three hilarious comedians and enjoying free canapés and drinks. This was a great opportunity to socialise with interns and network with other people in the industry.
