My team are incredibly supportive and couldn’t have been more welcoming.

Hi, I'm Holly

Student at the University of Leeds

I applied for as many marketing and communications roles that I could with Warner Bros. for obvious reasons – it is such an influential company that is responsible for so many of my favourite films and TV shows that I have grown up with. As a huge film lover it feels amazing to be part of this company, experiencing the every-day goings on and being able to contribute towards this myself.

Describe your typical day?

Every day is different, which is why I love this job - I manage the company intranet, Behind the Shield, so I have gone from never having used website software to becoming a seasoned WordPress user in the space of only a few months. I write for the company newsletters, help to coordinate staff events and screenings and help run our social media accounts.

I also work with my managers to deal with external communication matters. These can arrive anytime and are usually quite unpredictable so this is a really interesting part of my job that keeps us on our toes.

What do you enjoy most about your role?

I love going to the staff screenings we have on site almost every week – I have seen Suicide Squad, Café Society, Goodfellas and more in an amazing cinema and it is a great way to stay up to date with our current titles. I have really liked becoming familiar with how the whole company works on a global scale and it makes me feel valuable. I get to be more creative than I thought I would be, too, which is really enjoyable.

The Shawshank Redemption

Most memorable moment

My highlight has to be meeting the people I work with, especially all of the other placement students, as we are already a really good group of friends and I can tell that I will stay in contact with them long after my year at Warner Bros. comes to an end. My team are incredibly supportive and couldn’t have been more welcoming.
